Life is a roller-coaster ride filled with joy and turbulence. It’s upto you to make the most of it and learn from the experiences you get. This is exactly what Digital Creator Pavan Pamnani believes in and made a foray into influencing.
Pavan’s journey has been a constant quest of innovation from the innate traits he had ingrained in his psyche. Somehow he realised it over a period of time and made his life a successful journey.
The interview:
Can you tell us a little
bit about how you got started and attained the position of an influencer?
Back in
2014, I was working with Steve Madden as a fashion consultant for 3 years.
Somehow, I always wanted to get into the glamour industry be it acting,
modelling or fashion. Influencing and being a Youtuber seemed to be the right
choice.
I was good
at styling people. I had this hidden talent which I wasn’t aware of. At times, I
used to style friends who consulted from me and that was the time I realized
this is not for me. Later, I started working on the Instagram page by uploading
posts, videos, stories and I quit my job.
My journey
took me to start working in a digital media company in 2018 as a video producer
and in-house stylist. I learned the technicalities about production, shooting and
editing. I realized it again if I can do a lot for someone then I can do more
than this for myself. That was the time I planned on starting my own YouTube
channel and focus on influencing. This was around early 2019 and since then I
have been an Influencer for Men's fashion, lifestyle and grooming.
How important is an
authenticity to your review when it comes to influencer marketing? How do
you maintain your authentic voice, viewpoints, and recommendations on your
social media while still partnering with brands?
Being truthful is very important. Otherwise, you are misleading your followers. It is very easy to maintain my point of view while partnering with brands. After all, the brand should benefit from the outcome of the collab.
Have there been any
brands or promotions you have refused since you didn’t believe in them?
Yes, there are many brands/campaigns I have refused to. If I don't believe in it, I never do it.
How do you plan the
brand promotion in case of collaborations? What is the modus operandi you
follow?
First, I understand the concept behind the collab and then I put myself and my creativity outside the box to promote it. I always work on different concepts which help the brand stand out.
