For all those who have shopped at IKEA internationally would surely rush to visit the newly opened South Bombay store which has been launched in Worli at the Kamla Mills compound. IKEA has always been a supreme shopping experience with its exquisite, unique and value-added products.
On the price comparison
factor, IKEA balances it fruitfully with premium quality and superfluous service.
Their sample bedrooms are a treat and temptation which help you in making the right
decision especially if you have an open room space and want to decorate it
creatively. IKEA has some great space-saving options which are the much-needed
element for crowded, crammed Mumbai homes.
Listed below are some of the shopping tips and queries if you plan to visit the IKEA store in Worli.
When is the
right time to visit it?

Product quality Vs Pricing? Does IKEA match online portals like Amazon and Flipkart?
You can get
fortunate to bag some good deals on things that you need. Quality wise,
although certain products had a ‘made in China’ label, the quality was amazing.
As for the comparison with other online portals, IKEA surely is a class apart
and has some unique designs and products which have some amazing features. You would
be quite tempted to buy things which aren’t really a necessity for you at home.

Is the staff
helpful?
The service
team is youthful and all out to assist and help solve your queries. The professionalism
and perfect service quality culture of the brand is truly commendable. You can
rest assured since they do have consultants around who guide you through if you
want your entire room to be done up as per your specifications.
Is all the
stock on display available for sale?
There were
couple of products we liked but somehow, they weren’t available. When we checked
with the sales team, we were informed that the ‘yellow’ tag below the pricing indicates
that the product is unavailable at the moment. So, if you see the yellow tag,
you could skip that product yet seek assistance for similar alternatives if
available.
How’s the cafeteria?
Around 3 pm,
the cafeteria was packed. Shoppers were feasting on the delicacies on the menu.
The menu price range is decently affordable and one is surely guaranteed of
supreme quality.
Vashi or
Worli? Which one is a better place?
Definitely
the Vashi outlet is a better place. The outlet is huge so obviously you have a
better choice of products and better options to choose from. The Worli outlet
is good enough for quick buys and one always has the options for shopping
online.
Do they charge
any additional fee?
If you plan
to shop in bulk, it’s best to have some carry-bags handy. IKEA charges you Rs.
2/- for a paper bag and Rs. 120/- for a cloth carry bag. These bags can stock a
decent shopping cart but if you have to buy some more bags, then it’s best to
carry your own.
What are the
best buys in the mid-segment?
Well, it all
depends on your choice of shopping and what you need. There are cute
knick-knacks which are cheap like some colorful plastic plates for kids, a folding
breakfast table, bunch of scissors, amazing beer mugs, cute animated clocks, a
must buy drilling machine set, floor mats, creative souvenirs and lots more. You
will sure end up spending quite a bit once you realize that the quality is
premium and the look is original unlike the stuff available online.
Are Christmas
decorations options available?
Unfortunately,
there weren’t enough of Christmas decorations on sales. Yes, the tea-lights were
available at a much cheaper rate than the market price,
Do they
charge for deliveries?
If you shop
for something heavy which you want to be delivered at home or office, IKEA does
charge you an additional fee. You can discuss this with the sales team on the
floor who would brief you.
When compared
to the international IKEA stores, is there anything missing?
The concept,
the branding and service is on par with the international stores. One thing we
surely missed was the bulky catalogues which are available for free at
international IKEA stores. This catalogue offers a deep insight into the various
ways in which you can decorate your home and save on space. Maybe the catalogue
has been done away it since the official website has most of the items listed.
