A thali is not a feeling, it’s a festival of flavours that
create magic for you. Especially so, if it is a Gujarati thali. We happened to
feast on the ‘Swad Kesariya’ special thali menu which has been rolled out by the
restaurant chain Rajdhani – Ek Khandani Parampara. The new menu is valid upto
10th Janauary 2022 and is worth it.
The restaurant ambience is soothing and service is superfluously
prompt. The menu boasts of the original and authentic flavours of the Gujurati cuisine.
Some of the bestsellers on the list are the ubiquitous Undhiyo, while others
that titillated our taste buds were haldi nu saag, jaisalmeri hara channa,
bharela moong rotla and hari pyaz ki kari. Our favourite slurping dish was the
sweet dal which was a treat.

The menu also had a host of sweet dishes which haven’t been
on the menu for most thali restaurants. Shakharkhand ki rabri, gajrela,
chukandari halwa, adadiya pak and gaajar halwa satiated our sweet tooth
cravings.

On the flavour front, we were super impressed with the vast
menu and of course the sweet dishes too. With our recent trip, we have become
loyalist to the Rajdhani family. Feasting on a thali is a treat especially when
the local flavours of the cuisine are retained and the thali doesn’t take a
commercial touch to it.
A big pat on the team for this wonderful treat!!
