The new Monsoon Menu is designed to take you on a gastronomic adventure and presents unique dishes crafted exclusively for this time of the year.

EIGHT has always been a favorite for WHAT'S HOT IN MUMBAI. Our seventh visit (second time for a review though), EIGHT has been our lucky charm for business meets and party times with friends. The service is superfluous, the Monsoon menu is loaded with sensational variations, the non vegetarians will surely have a feast.

We have always loved the artistry and passion that Head Chef Sagar incorporates into crafting exceptional Pan Asian cuisine. Sharing his inspiration for the monsoon menu, he discloses, "The monsoon season in Mumbai brings a unique atmosphere that we wanted to capture in our dishes. Our goal was to create a menu that not only celebrates the season but also provides comfort and warmth through our food. Each dish has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the dining experience during this beautiful time of year."

Our recommendations are:

Edamame and Avocado Salad – the combination of water chestnut and asparagus makes this salad an absolute treat to begin with. Rich, buttery and creamy textures filled with mind-boggling flavour notes leave a happy smile on our face.

For starters, we loved the Water chestnut and asparagus dimsums – sizzling, piping hot and loaded with crunchy veggies. The holistic orange color adds a delectable aura, make sure you have it while they are piping hot. Make liberal use of the dips on the table for the tantalizing, flavorful effect.

We also ordered the Seared Lamb with crushed pepper sauce which was juicy, succulent and loaded with flavours. The sliced lamb has been perfectly marinated, the bell peppers, scallions make this a delicious stand-alone, wholesome dish.

For the main course, we recommend the Eight Spiced house special vegetable curry with Blue pea rice. Sensational spice spurts make this the yummiest curry and a true-blue sensation from the Chef. The colorful blue pea rice has this rich shiny, glitz coating which is quite tempting. A perfect combo.

The cocktails are a blockbuster treat when paired with this menu. Highly potent, perfect on the thrill zones. We suggest 'PRG'. A Mezcal tequila and agave nectar, sake concoction and the 'Hokkaido' – a yummy spirited Martini.

For desserts we opted for the Sticky toffee pudding – a perfect ending to our meal. Perfect on the sweet quotient, the combination of rich sponge, Dates toffee syrup leaves a lilting after-taste which is endearing. You can soften the flavour tones with the vanilla ice cream which further softens the sweetness.

Besides our recommendations below, you must also try the Australian Duck Xia Long Bao and Truffle Mushroom Xia Long Bao.
